“I was born & raised in a very, very small town in Northern Ontario, on the north shore of Lake Superior. Both sides of my family have always been passionate about lake fishing for walleye & pike, as well as hunting for deer, moose & black bears; it is a way of life. My grandpa & dad guided annual spring bear hunts for many years on our local logging roads in Ontario, and my grandparents still reside in their cabin on white tail hunting property in Wisconsin — both places where I have so many memories that I hold close to my heart. I am very lucky & grateful for my family and I take so much pride in my upbringing & where I came from. When I graduated college in 2011, I packed up two suitcases and embarked on a new adventure to move across the country to British Columbia on my own. I reignited my spark for the outdoors when I moved out here. On weeknights after work I am tying all kinds of flies, and on weekends I am either out flinging arrows with my bow, or on the rivers with a fishing rod in hand. {If I could fish everyday, I would!} In the winter & spring I am chasing steelhead, rainbows, and cutties, and in the summer & fall I’m enjoying all the various salmon runs. In the past 2-3 years I have mostly been spey & fly fishing, but I also enjoy my centerpin for the spots where you can’t always swing a fly. I also like to get out sturgeon fishing on the Fraser River. Needless to say, I love it all. Ultimately, my greatest sense of achievement is being a role model to all the girls who arn’t afraid to put on a pair of ripped jeans & run with the boys. As I like to always say, “Women should worry less about fitting into glass slippers, and more about shattering glass ceilings.” My mom & dad both told me to never let anyone tell me I can’t do something, so here I am — doing what I’m most passionate about & giving all the boys a run for their money!”

Jesse is also a brand ambassador for Hook + Vice, SaraBella Fishing and Reel Skipper

“I was born in Kamloops, BC and spent a few years living on a small lake outside of town.  My dad would bring me out in the canoe to fish spinners for rainbow trout and I caught my first fish at 2 years old.  I joined the fly fishing industry at 17 under the great folks at Trout Waters Fly and Tackle in Kelowna doing a mix of retail work, fly tying courses and Stillwater guiding.  I have since been able to visit some incredibly destinations both fishing and guiding, and am happy to be able to spend over 220 days on the water each year.
