Hometown: Prince George, BC
Favourite species to target: I am a romantic for steelhead.
When I’m not fishing, I am… I am either behind the vice tying flies (catching up on orders more than likely), or soaking in some vitamin D outside with my furry sidekick.
If I could fish anywhere in the world for one day – I have an ever-expanding list that changes daily I feel. Someday’s it is working the Steelhead project in Kamchatka, other days it is in the Russian far east chasing Sakhalin Taimen, other days it is sea-run Browns in Iceland or Golden Dorado in small Bolivian streams. The snakes there do terrify me a bit though.
What do you love about working in the fly fishing industry? I love that it is smaller than we would like to think, made up of people with passions, people with talent, people who enjoy the simplicities of life, kind people, hardworking people, creative people, motivating people, people who bring beauty, people who reject mediocrity and people who challenge each other to do better and be better.
Little-known fact: I went to school to be a chocolatier- like a pastry chef, but only chocolate. I loved it, and had my own little online chocolaterie.
